Assistance for companies

The KU Center for Research, Inc. (KUCR) is your primary contact for collaborative research projects at KU. KUCR offers a complete set of services for companies:

Finding researchers for collaboration
Typically, a company discusses its research needs with KUCR and a brief project outline is generated. KUCR contacts selected researchers on campus and qualifies interest levels from potential KU collaborators. The KU team and the company discuss the project and determine next steps.

Project initiation
KUCR may work with both the company and the KU researcher to help define the appropriate scope of research, reflecting the needs of the company and the research capabilities of KU.

Research contracts, confidentiality agreements, and intellectual property policies
Staff at KUCR are well experienced in providing all necessary agreements to support collaborative research.

Early-stage market research
For proof-of-concept and early prototype applications, market research and customer feedback are crucial. KUCR can help companies initiate these efforts and integrate them with the technical research efforts.

Networking
KUCR is part of an informal network that includes companies, government labs, and research groups conducting various kinds of R&D and pursuing innovation. When appropriate, KUCR can help a company become part of this network to develop relationships and collaborate on projects.
