Business & Industry Outreach

The University of Kansas is a comprehensive institution of higher education, with a major role in economic development. The research expertise of KU's faculty and students is an engine for economic growth. Companies are invited to contact KU and explore the possibilities of collaborative relationships that can lead to innovative products, services, and business practices.

Collaboration for innovation
Many companies use innovation to develop new products and expand markets. A key to innovation is access to new ideas and technologies.

KU is a major research institution and home to many kinds of basic and applied research efforts in biosciences, information technologies, and advanced manufacturing.

The KU Center for Research, Inc. helps initiate and manage relationships with companies that seek collaborative research and technology transfer.

Each year, companies develop relationships with KU faculty, researchers, and students on research projects to pursue a variety of research projects. These include breakthrough ideas as well as ways to extend existing technologies.
