The University of Kansas is a comprehensive institution of higher education, with a major role in economic development. The KU Center for Research, Inc. helps initiate and manage relationships with companies that seek collaborative research and technology transfer.

Each year, companies develop relationships with KU faculty, researchers, and students on research projects to pursue a variety of research projects. These include breakthrough ideas as well as ways to extend existing technologies.
